... I can help you with other things too! ...but right now I’m working on helping myself. *My^ web site has sat relatively dormant for a while now…even with its cool navigation bar. So it’s now undergoing some updating.
Not only that but I need to get some other facets of my life in here. For example, I have a family site which needs massive updating, I’m a singer with a dedicated domain that is way out of date, and I have nothing for my woodworking or decorative (i.e. faux) painting.
So it’s time for some clean up. I’m taking my own advice, getting rid of some old stuff, trying some new stuff adding here and there, etc. etc.
My most recent additions are my daughters new blogs: Hannah’s College Life, and Esther’s Enlightenments.
A few years ago, the web started to bloom. It seemed like everybody and his brother was getting into web design and building—and no wonder, it is really not that difficult to build a web site. Still, it really not that difficult to paint your house either!
I started building websites because it was interesting. Web structure flows differently than print, and there are variables which are not within the designer’s control. It made for a good challenge, and in time, I had some nice normal looking web sites.
Then the world wide web was hit by a flu. No, not your run of the mill computer virus (although there were plenty of those too), but a rash of ridiculousness—much of which survives to this day: Java Script that worked inconsistently, browser specific tags, FRAMES, and the dreaded Flash-only web sites.
But behind the scenes were web standards, and today those standards are easier than ever to follow. Web sites can be designed to load quickly, be easy to read, be accessible, and look good all at the same time.
The best news is that there are a lot of people around the world who can get the job done for you. Many are better than I, and many…well I disagree with some design philosophies. But if you need a web site, I can help.
Getting your information onto the web is an easy form of marketing, and I’m just right for a small business. Let me help you!
